The color purple is on trend and popping up in interiors everywhere. It’s one of those colors that can be hard to commit to but if it’s used well, it can create a sophisticated space. Designers Rosemary Wormley and Meredith Present of Ash Street Interiors designed this darling girl’s room, above. “Lilac was an obvious choice when our client told us it was her favorite color! Pairing it with a punchy green created a beautifully balanced combination,” says Present. This color combination is fresh and fun, yet still elegant. I can’t wait to use it in my own interior projects.

HUE CUES
It can be tough to find the right shade of purple, but when you do, it’s magic. Here are two winners.
This shade of lavender is very sophisticated and remains timeless. There are no hints of blue or gray and it pairs well with many accent colors.
This soft and subtle color is closer to being an off-white, but with a perfect hint of purple. An ideal choice if you don’t want to commit to a full-on purple wall.
