The breakfast table is often overlooked, but it’s where daily rituals and natural entertaining unfold. It’s one of the most relaxed spaces in a home and often where families connect the most. It doesn’t need to be formal, but it should feel intentional. In this blue and white breakfast room that I designed, the space reflects both ease and intention. Thoughtful details and layered textures invite people to linger here.
People remember how a table feels. It’s about creating something that feels effortless, but still considered.
That philosophy inspired Styled Settings, a new charitable event I brought to the Midwest that celebrates the art of the tablescape through design, entertaining and creativity. Held this past May at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, the fundraiser featured more than 25 designers, who each created a unique tablescape to inspire guests and showcase creativity.
With plans for Styled Settings to return, the event is quickly becoming a new signature design event in Wisconsin. This year, it benefited the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse, Inc., whose mission is to support breast and prostate cancer research.
