The world has changed! There is a world before COVID-19 and a world after COVID-19. Nearly everyone has been affected by this virus outbreak and our world flipped upside down. Our country has issued orders to mostly stay home and if you’re like me, then you’re itching to get outside. In fact, if you’re reading this, then you’re probably itching to get on the water. Having spent the past month working at home, I have started to notice how much my immediate surroundings impact my mood.
The real estate business is considered an “essential” business and as a result, I am still able to continue working during this time. However, it’s not without some major changes. Our team has been incorporating more hand washing, gloves, masks, and shoe covers to prevent the spread of the virus. I’ve had a few conversations with people that were considering a move a few months ago, but they are now choosing to wait a little longer. And that makes sense. With so much uncertainty, I can totally understand that.
Over the past few years we have been in a strong seller’s market with low inventory which has helped boost home values. Now our inventory has dropped by nearly 25% and giving even fewer options to potential home buyers. With interest rates still hovering at record lows, demand for housing still seems strong. Yet some buyer’s proceed very cautiously and some opt for a “virtual tour” only rather than viewing in person.
One thing that has been more clear to me is that as we spend more time at home, I believe that our home environment is going to be that much more important. If you’re not already living on or near the lake, then consider the current situation as your opportunity to live the life you’ve always wanted and wake up every day with a refreshed mind overlooking your favorite body of water.
Our team has high standards for customer service, communication, and marketing. When you choose us to help with your real estate needs, there’s also a benefit to the community. We donate a portion of our fee to a charity or non-profit of our client’s choice at closing. Now you can move into your dream home on the water and help others in the process.
